Cnidarian: (Aposematic on Burnt Sienna) presents a boldly symmetrical cut-paper form suspended above a deep red-orange field, arriving at both the radial anatomy of jellyfish and sea anemones and the biological phenomenon of aposematism: the use of vivid, contrasting color as a warning signal to predators. Rendered in saturated cadmium yellow and cobalt blue, the layered paper elements radiate outward from a central axis in eight-fold symmetry, their undulating edges suggesting tentacles, bell margins, and oral arms. The raised relief creates dynamic shadow play against the white mat, reinforcing the sense of a living form suspended in space. The work continues Axioma's ongoing investigation into the convergence of biological morphology and synthetic visual systems, using cut paper as both structural and expressive medium. The primary colors, yellow, blue, and red, carry dual readings: elemental color theory on one hand, and the honest, unambiguous signaling of danger found throughout the natural world on the other.
